John has been practising as a solicitor for over 40 years and was the first solicitor in New South Wales to be accredited as both a Business Specialist and Property Specialist by the Law Society of New South Wales. He is also deemed to be one of the most experienced Arbitrators and Mediators in the state.

John is a past Chairman of the Arbitration Liaison Committee and has also served on the Business Law Committee and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Resolution Institute.

John is often asked to act as an Expert by other solicitors and is even called upon by the Supreme Court of New South Wales to provide Expert Determinations from time to time.

He has also served on the boards of numerous companies and has been the Chairman of Catholic Health Australia and Southern Cross Care, amongst other organisations.
